Conditional Requirements

• For a sponsored stay or private accommodation, provide sponsorship evidence or letter, the sponsor's ID or passport copy, the sponsor's residence permit where the sponsor is a foreign resident, proof of address and the sponsor's recent bank statement.
• For family travel relying on accompanying-family status, provide the accompanying person's passport copy and marriage certificate for a spouse or birth certificate for children. Sponsorship documents are required where staying with family in Mauritius.
• For a business visit, provide a letter from the local Mauritian sponsor or company. Business visitors must not undertake unauthorized gainful employment.
• For a conference, workshop or event, provide a covering letter from the ministry or institution concerned. Conference invitation, registration or event confirmation may be requested.
• For a minor, provide parental consent, the minor's birth certificate and copies of the parents' passports. Additional custody or guardianship evidence may be requested.
• For medical treatment, a medical visa may be granted on arrival for treatment at a qualifying registered private healthcare institution, for the treatment period up to six months. Pakistani ordinary passport holders should obtain written confirmation from the Passport and Immigration Office and treating institution before relying on this route.
• For transit, a transit visa is defined for passengers proceeding to a third country within 24 hours. Confirm airside-transit requirements with the Mauritius High Commission and airline.
• For previous visa refusals, answer all relevant questions truthfully. No special published checklist was established.
