Who This Route Is For

For a Pakistani passport holder transiting through the international transit area of an airport in Greece while travelling onward to a destination outside the Schengen Area. Pakistani nationals are included in the common list of nationalities generally required to hold a Schengen airport transit visa, subject to the exemptions provided by the Visa Code.

Permitted Activities

Remaining within the international transit area of the airport in Greece while waiting for an onward flight to a non-Schengen destination.

Restrictions

An Airport Transit Visa does not permit entry into the Schengen territory. It cannot be used where the traveller must leave the international transit area, collect and re-check baggage landside, change airports, stay outside the transit zone, or continue on a flight to another Schengen State. In such cases the appropriate Schengen entry visa must be assessed instead.

Important Notes

This profile applies specifically to airport transit. The applicant should provide the confirmed onward itinerary and evidence of permission to enter the final destination where required. Visa Code exemptions from the Airport Transit Visa requirement must always be checked before advising the applicant. The competent application route for Greece must follow that country's current Pakistan representation or consular procedure.
