  • A family-purpose immigration case may require Visa de Objeto Determinado – Familia, including purpose evidence and police, criminal or judicial record documentation for applicants over 16.
  • Medical treatment requires Visa de Objeto Determinado – Salud rather than the ordinary tourist route; prepare hospital acceptance, appointment or treatment evidence, financial evidence and police, criminal or judicial record documentation for applicants over 16.
  • For business meetings or conference attendance, obtain an invitation or letter stating purpose, dates, location, funding and that no unauthorized employment will occur; the consular office determines whether tourism/visit or Objeto Determinado is appropriate.

  • For transit, obtain confirmation from the airline and Bolivian consular post regarding whether a transit visa is required for the itinerary, particularly for an entirely airside connection.
